Nothing's good enough, is it?

Miers wasn't conservative enough, her resumé wasn't long enough, Alito has a hefty resumé, and he's too conservative. Who the heck is good enough?

See?
According to this article, hurricanes run in strong and weak cycles, which last many years. The last weak cycle ended in the mid-'90's, and we're in a strong cycle now. This would explain why we only just beat a record set in the 1930's, and remember, there probably weren't any very good records kept before that. Obviously, this gives doubt to the notion that global warming is making hurricanes stronger...

Can you say, 'Drama Queen'?
How is it such a surprise that she was fired, when she DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR WORK? “If I had even an inkling that I would be fired for not coming in Monday, I would have been there,” she said. Well that's the beauty of hindsight, isn't it? Of course you would have been there, not that you weren't an idiot for thinking that you wouldn't be fired for not showing up at work.

Miers backed out?
And what's this about Democrats saying that Bush is 'bowing to the radical right"? Since when do they not think he's part of the radical right?

I'm sorry, but I think that video games are below Mr. Spielberg
Can he really put his talents to work on a video game? Won't they be wasted? Isn't it really just the power of his name that's at work here?

16 kids?!?
Umm, isn't that a bit rediculous? Can they really give all of the children all of the attention that they deserve, especially with dad being a politician?
And by the way, did anyone else notice his name? Jim Bob?

Someone who does not know what he's talking about
http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/P131155.asp
If this man knew anything about his chosen topic, he could not possibly make such a brazen, extreme statement. Just look at the Fed Chair in the late 1970's, idiot. And check out those folks right around the time of the great depression.

Listen, lady...
Ms. Heesley, the airline is a business, which is privately owned, and has the right not to serve you. They were obviously concerned that the obscenity on your T-shirt would offend other passengers.
If you wanna be an idiot, and you're egocentric enough that you have to broadcast your politics to everyone that sees you, you should at the very least do so in a way that's not offensive. If you can't handle that, it's gonna tick people off, and when you live in a society, that causes problems.
So stop complaining, Dummy!

Justice Earl Warren had never been a judge before he was nominated either. Many other past justices were in the same position. This entire article was useless, spiteful, political dribble. It's biased. It's childish. This person obviously just doesn't like President Bush. Don't buy into this garbage.
And by the way, putting that stuff in quotes, when these people never said any of it, that's called libel. Idiot.

The fact that Mrs. Miers has not loudly and openly expressed her opinions on a wide range of political issues is an excellent qualification. If she had done so, the Democrats would have exactly what they need to band together and keep her off the bench. Without being absolutely assured of her politics, or that she even has any, they have no choice but to confirm her as a wise, apolitical legal mind.
This is not to say that Mr. Bush does not know her ideals. This is why it is an advantage that he knows her personally. No, he did not favor a personal friend, he nominated someone whose politics he knows, because he knows her personally, but whom the Senate will be unable to oppose.
Frankly, it's genius. Trust me, Mr. Bush would not risk his chance at a conservative Supreme Court. He's not the idiot that so many people think he is--the man knows what he is doing.
And as for the idea that he ran from a fight--so? Like I said, he knows what he's doing. He made a safe bet. If the conservatives in this country start to think that they have it made in the shade, start taking big risks and pushing hard and loud on every issue, they're gonna lose it. The Republicans can by no means overpower and smother the Democrats forever. There are alot of risks coming in the near future that need to be considered. For now, we need to take it easy, gain a little more support. Spare the rod...
That is, unless we can be really courageous. If we're gonna be loud, we need to follow through. We can't be all talk--we need the walk too. If there are issues that we need to take care of immediately, things that need to be pushed for loud and hard, then we need to act. When it comes to injustice, we need to, as Thoreau said, "transgress it immediately"--and actively. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did it, and he's widely seen as a hero.

Judging experience is not necessary. Besides, law practice isn't all she's been doing for her entire career. She was the president of the Texas State Bar, and also on the Dallas City Council.
