Hmmm...

I think that this man is awful, and I would be loath to defend him, but what the heck happened to freedom of speech? I do think that it was an awful thing to say, but who did he hurt by saying it, especially since no one would be idiotic enough to change their mind about such a subject based on his opinions? It might not be true, but he should still be allowed to say it.
